Replica of the Victoria, one of 5 ships that set sail from Seville in 1519, commanded by Magellan, with the goal of being first to circumnavigate the globe. The Victoria was the only ship to complete the journey, returning in 1522, but without Magellan. He had been killed the prior year in a battle with locals of the Philippine island of Mactan, resistant to the idea of forced conversion to Christianity.
