The owner speaks French (with her friends), but the dog English ("come" & "sssssit"!). I said: Tres bien chien, tu comprend anglais! To which the dog jumped up in my chair and gave me a face wash -- I guess it speaks French too. The owner just laughed: "Well, you asked for it!" -- she speaks English too.
